Wind and waves

I'm taking a break from hurricane prepping to reflect back on my beautiful weekend spent with friends and family. There's nothing like a weekend spent on the water with good wine and good people. I'm not sure what the bigger highlight was; the 1963 vintage port or crashing waves and schooners. Let's call it a tie.

It's not everyday we get to ride out into the harbor and see a fleet of schooners in action pivoting along buoys all racing for first place. I watched in awe as these athletes climbed masts to unleash sails as if it were second nature. I, in the mean time, was clinging to a rail and reminding myself not to drop my camera overboard. On a more serious note, I was lucky enough to have prepped the house for a hurricane before I left south Florida, but I know there are many still down there doing their last minute prep or starting to evacuate. Please be safe. And to friends and family, you know where I am and if you want to come watch Disney movies and eat gummies just let me know!

Mary and I spent Labor Day sailing off Newport, RI and it was our best day of the whole summer! Love the salt air and enjoying a slower pace!
