I'm standing at the pool at fontainebleau waiting for everyone else to arrive and a kid comes up to me, "hey, what are you doing in town?" Me, "I'm here for a Phil Collins concert." Kid that may not be of drinking age, "Oh, he's that country singer right?" Me, "(internally screaming bless your heart child) No."
Phil Collins is a legend!
I dismiss myself to go find a beverage and not feel old. Turns out we have an extra ticket so I text a girlfriend and ask her if she has anyone interested. She ask's a friend of her's who responds "Who's that?" 34 was not supposed to feel this old. I'm convinced the hipsters running Miami are not nearly as cultured as they pretend to be. ??
In Miami I did Miami things. Art Basel, Fontainebleau and pictures of life guard stands. Do I mind being a cliche? Not at all.
To balance out the nightlife and alcohol I decided on a trip to silver springs. Please... do not go to silver springs, this place is amazing and I don't want to share it with anyone!!
The entire time I was out I could not believe how blue and clear the water was. This place will heal your soul and put a smile on your face. Did I mention it has monkeys? I didn't see any but it is the only place in Florida you can see wild monkeys. I'll be returning as soon as I have more than just a few hours to float around.
